How accurate is City Pointer?
City Pointer uses GeoNames city data (cities from around 15,000 inhabitants). It is accurate enough for exploration and curiosity, but not intended as a scientific tool.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The city database is built into the app and ready to work without an internet connection. You only need your device GPS and compass so City Pointer can orient itself.
Why do you need my location?
We only use your location to calculate distances and determine which cities are in the direction you point to. We do not show your position to other users or build personal profiles.
Will you sell my data?
We do not sell your personal data. We may use aggregated analytics and error tools (such as Firebase) to improve the app, and ad networks may collect anonymous usage data under their own policies.
How can I remove ads?
Inside the app you will find a one-time purchase option to remove ads permanently. There are no subscriptions or recurring payments.
Which devices are supported?
City Pointer is currently available on iOS and coming soon to Android. It is designed for modern mobile devices, pointing toward the horizon.
